hollow

hollow (2022) is a composition for two bowed marimbas, a tam-tam, and four percussionists. It was written as part of Parliament of Angels 2023, a collaborative project with BL!NDMAN [drums] in partnership with Canterbury Christ Church University.

The piece features a continuous drone-like soundscape, with performers moving slowly around and between the instruments, creating a dynamic interplay of sound and space.

The choreography emphasises the physicality of the performers, as they navigate the instruments and one another.
